FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The identities of a Hamilton murder suspect killed by police in Fairfield Township as well as the homicide victim have been released, by the Butler County Coroner's Office.

25-year-old Stephaun Jones is accused shooting Sidney Printup, 25, multiple times after the two were involved in a car crash on Oct. 8 just after 7 p.m. along the 1900 block of Fairgrove Avenue in Hamilton. Jones then fled the scene after fatally shooting Printup.

Witnesses said as he was fleeing, Jones fired his gun into cars nearby — including into the vehicle of Kimberly Jones while she was stuck in traffic with her grandson and pregnant daughter.

"It put her in early labor, and my grandson and me and everybody is traumatized," said Jones. "My 10-year-old grandson was in the back, he seen everything."

Investigators said Jones, who was still armed, was initially located on Morris Road by Fairfield Township Police, but then fled when the officers failed to shoot him. Those officers have since resigned from the department.

Jones was later located in the 6400 block of Tara Brook Court shortly after 8 p.m.

Two Hamilton police officers confronted Jones who then pulled out a handgun, and subsequently, both police officers opened fire and he was hit, police said.

Officers on the scene provided medical assistance, and Jones was transported to UC West Chester hospital where he later died.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation determined that the two Hamilton officers' actions were lawful, proper and in full compliance with department policy. The officers have returned to full duty, the Hamilton Police Department said in a press release.
