HAMILTON, Ohio — As Hurricane Dorian threatens southern coasts, the Butler County Incident Management Team is heading to Florida.
The team announced Friday it was leaving Saturday morning for a 16-day mission on behalf of the State of Florida Emergency Management.
They will travel from Hamilton, Ohio to Tallahassee, Florida to receive their mission in response to the Category 4 storm, which is expected to affect Florida and other states this weekend.
The highly-trained team provides “coordination, guidance and logistical support to areas in declared disaster,” according to a release.
Members of Deerfield Township Fire, Englewood Fire, Fairfield Township Fire, Liberty Township Fire, Monroe Fire, Morgan Township Fire, Oxford Police, Oxford Fire, St. Clair Township / New Miami Life Squad, West Chester Fire, Butler County EMA and others make up the regional team.
