UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An Illinois man was killed when his semi went off Interstate 275 into a wooded area Wednesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Witnesses said the semi operated by Craig Sherwood, 61, of Aurora, Illinois, was northbound near milepost 61 about 12:35 p.m. when it drifted off the right side of the interstate and struck a ditch before going into the trees.
Sherwood was wearing a safety belt but died at the scene, according to the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
