CLERMONT CO. — A Union Township-based logistics company will undergo a multi-million dollar expansion that will bring hundreds of jobs to the region.
Total Quality Logistics (TQL) will build a second facility on its headquarters campus in Union Township.
The expansion will allow for about 600 new jobs over the next five years, primarily in sales and information technology.
TQL is the second largest freight brokerage company in North America, according to President Kerry Byrne.
Crews will construct a 120,000 to 130,000 square-foot building on Ivy Pointe Boulevard next to the company’s existing building. When complete, both facilities will be able to accommodate over 2,000 employees.
“Logistics is an increasingly tech-driven industry, and we continue to make substantial investments in our proprietary technology solutions … this headquarters expansion will cater to the needs of technology professionals so we can attract and retain the highest levels of technology talent,” Byrne said in a statement.
Dana Saucier, vice president and head of economic development for JobsOhio, said TQL’s growing operations show how Greater Cincinnati’s talent is “changing the landscape for freight brokerage firms.”
David Painter, president of the Board of County Commissioners, said in a statement that the Clermont County Commissioners are pleased the company is expanding within the county.
“We are proud to see a locally based company continue to grow and prosper,” Painter said. “Projects like this demonstrate that Clermont County provides a great environment for businesses.”
