BOONE COUNTY, Ky. — A Springfield Twp. man has been arrested on multiple charges related to sexual misconduct with a child in Hebron, Kentucky.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office began an investigation in September after detectives were contacted by the victim’s mother who said her daughter was sexually abused by an unknown man. Messages revealed Kevin Villamar, 28, solicited sexual acts from the 13-year-old girl while portraying himself as a 15-year-old boy.

Investigators said Villamar and the victim later met in Hebron where "various sexual acts were performed," including one that was recorded by Villamar.

Villamar was arrested in Springfield Twp. on a Boone County warrant and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Villamar has been charged with rape in the third degree, sodomy in the third degree, use of a minor in a sexual performance, distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, distribution of obscene matter to minors and prohibited use of electronic communication systems to procure a minor.

His bond has been set at $500,000.
