FLORENCE, Ky. — A semitrailer driver died Friday after being pinned between his parked vehicle and a pickup in a truck stop parking lot, Florence police wrote in a news release.
The driver parked outside the TA Truckstop on Burlington Pike early Friday afternoon. As he walked in front of the semitrailer, the vehicle rolled forward, trapping him between it and a nearby pickup.
His legs were badly injured when emergency responders arrived. The driver was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center but pronounced dead around 5 p.m.
Police did not immediately publicize the name of the victim. A crash reconstruction unit was examining the scene.
