FLORENCE, Ky. -- A cow on the lam briefly closed Interstate 71 early Monday morning, according to Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials closed the road in both directions when the cow was running along the interstate near mile marker 180. The road was closed from about 1:15 a.m. to 2 a.m. to prevent the cow from walking into traffic.
The cow went onto the ramp from I-71 to US-42, and officers euthanized the cow near UC Health Stadium, according to deputies at the scene.
