SEAMAN, Ohio — A woman remains hospitalized Friday after police shot her while she held a handgun and moved aggressively toward officers in Adams County earlier this week.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations said Seaman and Winchester police officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired at the 1500 block of Greenbriar Road.
There, officers found a woman holding a handgun outside of the residence. After repeated commands to drop the weapon, she "made aggressive movements" toward the officers, who shot her. The officers involved were not injured.
The woman, who police did not identify, was lifeflighted to a Cincinnati hospital. Once she's released, she'll face "multiple criminal charges," according to a spokesman for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.
