SEAMAN, Ohio — A house fire is being investigated as a possible crime scene with a connection to the double shooting at the Marathon gas station Friday morning.

Members of the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation are combing the fire scene on Old State Route 32 while other BCI investigators and sheriff’s detectives work the shooting scene where a delivery driver was killed and a clerk was wounded.

Adams County Sheriff Kimmy Rogers all but confirmed the connection when he said, “We presently processing another crime scene in a different area.”

The sheriff’s office got a call about 7:30 a.m. about an attempted robbery at the Marathon gas station on Main Street. After the suspect drove from the scene, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies spotted his vehicle and pursued him into Pike County.

The suspect lost control of his car and crashed, then turned the gun on himself as troopers and deputies closed, according to the Highway Patrol.
