CINCINNATI -- Xavier University coach Travis Steeleis expected to visit with former Walnut Hills basketball standout MaCio Teague on Friday, according to Walnut Hills coach Ricardo Hill.
Teague, a 6-foot-3 guard who has played the past two seasons at the University of North Carolina Asheville, told ESPN's Jeff Goodman Wednesday he received his release to transfer.

The University of Cincinnati, Xavier, Louisville, Oregon, Nebraska, Iowa State and Purdue called Hill on Wednesday with interest in Teague. Ohio State, Virginia and UCLA are also showing significant interest in Teague, according to Hill.
"This kid has a heart of a Lion and wherever he lands will prosper with him," Hill tweeted Wednesday.
UNC Asheville named Mike Morrell as its new coach on Wednesday. He was previously a University of Texas assistant. Former UNC Asheville coach Nick McDevitt left in late March to become the head coach at Middle Tennessee.
Teague averaged 16.7 points and 4.4 rebounds as a sophomore for UNC Asheville (21-13) this past season. He finished this past season with 1,078 career points. He was just the fourth and is now one of only five in Big South history to score 1,000 or more by their sophomore season, according to the school.
"I told MaCio to stay humble and everything will work out," Hill said.
UNC Asheville won a second straight regular-season Big South Conference championship. It also made its third straight postseason appearance with the Bulldogs playing in the 2018 National Invitation Tournament.
Teague was the Big South Conference Freshman of the Year in 2016-17.
He averaged 26.4 points and 7.5 rebounds as a senior at Walnut Hills in the 2014-15 season. He broke the school's single-game scoring record with 51 points against Piqua in the Flyin' to the Hoop Invitational in January 2015. T
Teague was the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Player of the Year and the District 16 Coaches' Association Player of the Year.
He completed a prep year at nationally-recognized Montverde Academy in Florida before arriving at UNC Asheville.
