CINCINNATI — October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause nearly everyone can relate to, either personally or through a friend or loved one.
That even goes for all of us in the 9 On Your Side newsroom, where our very own Good Morning Tri-State anchor Kathrine Nero is celebrating three years as a breast cancer survivor.
Kathrine spoke at Friday’s Paint the Square Pink event at Fountain Square, the kickoff for this year’s American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Walk, scheduled in Cincinnati for October 24.

In between announcements and the hubbub, I had the chance to sit down with Kathrine and look back at her fight against this all-too-often deadly disease.
Watch in the video player above as 9 On Your Side anchor Carol Williams talks with Good Morning Tri-State anchor Kathrine Nero about her road to recovery, and what the Making Strides walk means to her now three years later.
