Both levies on the ballot in Hamilton County’s special election have passed.

A Fire & EMS levy in Mount Healthy was approved with 55% of the vote. Fire officials said the levy will allow the department to hire seven full-time firefighter/paramedics and part-time staff, run two ambulances and respond to fire calls every hour of every day, and buy trucks and equipment when needed.

In the village of St. Bernard, a current expenses renewal levy had 71% percent of the vote just before midnight Tuesday for an extension lasting five years.

Any ballots that were mailed in late will still need to be counted.
