CINCINNATI — Xavier University’s Wednesday Big East conference game against DePaul was postponed Monday after a positive COVID-19 test, the university announced on Twitter.
“Xavier received a positive test in its Tier 1 group in the latest results and, due to the need for additional COVID-related testing precautions in the coming days, the trip to Chicago must be postponed,” a school spokesperson wrote.
The announcement did not identify the person who tested positive or their role in connection to the basketball team.
It’s the second Xavier game postponed in as many weeks — the Georgetown-Xavier matchup originally scheduled for Jan. 21 had to be postponed until March 2 due to a positive result on Georgetown’s side.
