Whether you spend your Thanksgiving morning snuggled up on the couch or scurrying around the kitchen, it'll be worth your time to turn on the TV.

The Ohio State University Marching Band, known across the country for its creative, eye-catching halftime shows, will make its first-ever appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

"This is one of those things that you dream of being part of," band director Christopher Hoch said in a news release.

The ensemble nicknamed The Best Damn Band in the Land -- TBDBITL -- learned it would participate in the iconic Thanksgiving show through a surprise announcement in September 2017. According to the news release, YouTube recordings of the band's performances caught the eye of the parade's creative director.

Moreover, the New York City performance "will be a display of musical and visual excellence, integrating Buckeye favorites along with music that captures the spirit of the holiday season."

Sounds like a perfect prelude to football and turkey.
