Cincinnati Public Schools has scheduled drive-thru graduation parades for the high school Class of 2020 this month.
“We might not be able to celebrate graduation the way we all imagined, but that doesn’t mean we can't make it fun!” says an announcement on the CPS website, referring to restrictions prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Put on your cap and gown, grab enough family to fit in a car, and we'll celebrate YOU!”
Most celebrations will be held at the high schools. SCPA’s will be at the entrance to Music Hall, and Taft Information Technology’s will be at Cincinnati Museum Center.
After graduates get to the front of the car line, they will hear their names called over speakers “followed by yells and cheers from teachers and staff,” according to the CPS announcement.
At that point, each graduate will receive a diploma, a yard sign “and other goodies.”
Parades will take place from May 18 through May 30 and be live streamed on YouTube.

Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles for the entire ceremony and to follow social distancing guidelines.
More information will be released at 4 p.m. Thursday in a Facebook Live on the CPS Facebook page, the school district said.
