CINCINNATI — Starting Monday, Cincinnati Public Schools will change healthy meal pickup times and locations and will offer new packets for students to pick up at five CPS locations.
Healthy meals will be available for pickup from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. through the CPS healthy meal distribution program.
"We are adjusting the meal distribution time because most people were picking up their meals in the first hour," said Jessica Shelly, CPS director of student dining services, in a news release Friday.
In addition to altering meal times, Shelly said, meals will now be available at Evanston Academy, 1835 Fairfax Ave. Meals will no longer be available at Withrow University High School or the Frederick Douglass School. Shelly encouraged families living near Douglass to pick up meals at Evanston Academy.
Meals will continue to be distributed on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, with four meals -- two breakfasts and two lunches -- Mondays and Wednesdays, and two meals -- one breakfast and one lunch -- on Fridays, all on a first-come, first-served basis.
Families with children between the ages of 1-18 can drive thru or walk up and pick up meals at the school sites in parking lots. Children do not need to be present with their family.
Meal distribution will be in the parking lot at each school. If you're driving, CPS asks that you stay inside your vehicle, as meals will be presented to the driver. This program is available solely for the pick-up of meals, and food cannot be consumed on-site.
In addition, learning packets are available to students and families that do not have access to online learning and for pickup at the following sites from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
- Riverview East Academy, 3555 Kellogg Ave
- Roberts Academy, 1702 Grand Ave
- Oyler School, 2121 Hatmaker St
- Parker Woods Montessori School, 4370 Beech Hill Ave
- John P. Parker School. 5051 Anderson Pl
Packets are also posted on the CPS website.
