Sheriff: Inmate escaped from Brown County jail Tuesday

GEORGETOWN, Ohio — An inmate damaged a security window and escaped from the Brown County Jail on Tuesday, according to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said Hobert Roark, 40, damaged a window and fled through an impound lot at about 6:35 p.m.

Roark was being held on several charges, including burglary, grand theft, receiving stolen property, failure to comply with a police officer and possession of firearms under disability.

Roark will now face an escape charge, officials said.
