LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A second man was charged in connection to the Wednesday night shooting that killed 18-year-old Antaun Hill Jr., the Butler County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

Zyquon Moody, 18, had initially been identified as a victim. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said he, along with another young man, had been wounded in the confrontation that led to Hill’s death.

Moody now stands charged with felonious assault. He was arrested Friday night, and the investigation remains ongoing, Jones said.

Speaking at a Thursday news conference, Jones had described the shooting as the result of a fight between two groups of young people behind the Lakota Family YMCA on Yankee Road.

Gunshots ended the fight. Hill would be taken to West Chester Medical Center, where he died; Romel Velasquez, also 18, would be charged with murder and felonious assault the following morning. Jones identified Velasquez as the shooter and did not specify Moody’s role in the conflict.

Hill was a recent graduate of Fairfield High School, where he played safety on the Indians football team. Coach Jason Krause remembered him Thursday as “a happy, fun-loving, hard-working football player.”
