HAMILTON, Ohio -- Authorities arrested a second man in connection to the death of Middletown mom Brittany Russell.

The U.S. Marshal's Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested Brandon Carr, 35, in Dayton Tuesday, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Mason Lupica. Carr is facing charges of murder, felonious assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.

Russell, 29, was found shot to death in a parked car Feb. 10, 2016 in Dayton. Her 6-month-old daughter was in the backseat, unharmed, and was later returned to the girl's father.

Authorities previously charged another man, Curtis Burdette, in connection with Russell's death. He was charged with one count of aggravated murder and one count of endangering children, among other charges.

Police had also previously arrested Carr last year, but the prosecutor did not approve a murder charge for him then due to insufficient evidence.

Carr was being held in Butler County Jail pending a court appearance.
