WARREN COUNTY, Ohio — One man is dead and a woman remains in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after what sheriff's deputies described as a double shooting.
Investigators found the yet-unidentified man dead from an "apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound" and another woman injured after responding to an address on Ohio 132 in Washington Township around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, Warren County Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Hounshell wrote in a news release. The injured woman, found suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to a nearby hospital.
Chief Deputy Barry Riley first confirmed to WCPO news partner the Journal-News that deputies were investigating an apparent double shooting Tuesday morning.
Hounshell did not immediately identify the individuals involved while law enforcement works to alert next of kin.
