CINCINNATI -- Someone shot and killed a man in a East Price Hill parking lot Tuesday evening, according to Cincinnati police.

Someone shot Marcell Huffaker, 52, at about 10:44 p.m. Tuesday at 934 Chateau Avenue. First responders attempted to revive Huffaker, but he died at the scene, police said.

Several people said they heard the shots, but no one indicated whether they actually saw the shooting, Capt. David Fink said.

Tuesday’s shooting is the latest in a rash of gun violence in the neighborhood. A 21-year-old is accused of shooting four people last week near the intersection of Glenway and Ross Avenues. Two weeks ago, someone was shot near Elberon and Price Avenues. As of earlier this month, homicides were up 133 percent in District 3 so far this year, according to data from the Cincinnati Police Department.

Suspect information is not yet available. The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Anyone with information should Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
