DEER PARK, Ohio -- A Sycamore Township man is accused of shouting at and chasing a 12-year-old girl, according to court documents.
Justin Beamer, 36, shouted “Come here” at the girl and chased her down Ohio Avenue, an affidavit said. The girl was walking home from her friends house when Beamer chased her down Ohio Avenue and onto Webster Avenue before she ran to a house and asked the homeowners to call police.
Lt. Robert Miller said the girl was “terrified” and crying. She gave police a description that matched Beamer’s appearance, and police picked him up near Plainfield Road.
Beamer admitted that he had been drinking at a bar but said he had never seen the girl before. The girl later identified Beamer as the man who had chased her. Documents said it took “a lot of coaxing to have the victim identify the defendant.”
Beamer faces charges of criminal child enticement, menacing and disorderly conduct. A judge on Monday set Beamer's bond at $1,500.
