GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A 7-hour SWAT standoff came to a peaceful end early Tuesday morning when officers arrested 30-year-old Brandon Davis and charged him with aggravated menacing and inducing panic.
Police said a woman called 911 at about 7 p.m. Monday to report her stepson had pointed a handgun at her and threatened her while inside a home in the 3200 block of Deborah Lane.
After numerous attempts to contact Davis, police entered the home and found him hiding in the basement with the "handgun," which was a realistic BB gun replica of a .357 revolver.
The 911 call tells the story of a woman who said she feared for her life. She told dispatchers her stepson would not leave her home even after being asked several times. She said he had several warrants out for his arrest and was suicidal.
"I’ve been trying to wake him up to make him leave, and he wouldn’t leave. He threw a cup of water on me and he said, 'I’m not leaving.' He has the gun lying next to him on the floor. It is loaded. I watched him load the gun," the woman told 911 dispatchers.
The incident remains under investigation by the Green Township Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Investigative Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
