CINCINNATI — A suspect in the shooting of a 12-year-old girl faces six charges of felonious assault, Cincinnati police announced Thursday.

Devon Brown, 19, did not fire the shots that sent the girl to the Children’s Hospital ICU, according to his arrest report. Police wrote he drove a group of still-unidentified accomplices to the East Price Hill house where she was playing with friends, then drove them away from the scene after they had fired 40 shots into the home.

The group’s intended target had likely been an adult inside the building, police said the night of the shooting.

But at the time of the attack, there were five children inside as well.

Brown confessed to driving the shooters to and from the scene, according to his arrest report.

He was booked into the Hamilton County Detention Center early Thursday morning.
