COVINGTON, Ky. -- A juvenile suspect faces charges of terroristic threatening for making “very serious” threats toward Holmes High School on social media, Lt. Col. Brian Steffen said.
The Covington Police Department began investigating after the juvenile made threats on social media at about 11 a.m. Sunday, Steffen said, and police took the suspect into custody at about 3:45 p.m.
Police did not specify what kind of threats were made, but they said there is no active threat toward Holmes High School.
“We are confident that there is no longer an active threat against the school or its students, faculty or staff, and that there are no other individuals involved in this threat,” police said in a news release.
The juvenile is being held at the Campbell County Juvenile Detention Facility.
