NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio -- A man found slumped over his steering wheel Friday night had been shot two blocks away, police said.

The victim crashed on Cordova Avenue near Savannah Avenue at about 9:30 p.m., according to a news release from the North College Hill Police Department.

He had two gunshot wounds to his left side and wasn't breathing when officers and paramedics arrived. They tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead.

Not long before the crash, officers were called to Simpson Avenue for a report of shots fired, but they didn't find anything.

Later, they found several shell casings on Simpson between Emerson and Catalpa avenues, the police department said.

The homicide is under investigation. Police didn't release the victim's name because they were working to notify family members.
