MORROW, Ohio – A Morrow man claims he left his girlfriend's baby alone in the tub. Now he is charged with abuse.
Tyler Ward, 22, called 911 last week and reported the 13-month-old girl wasn’t breathing.
"We left our baby in the bathtub for 30 seconds and she's not breathing,” Ward said on his call.
The baby is alive, but her condition is unknown.
Ward was charged with felonious assault and child endangerment after Warren County detectives interviewed and arrested him.
Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell told WCPO he would wait to comment until after the case is brought to the grand jury.
One of Ward’s neighbors – he shares a duplex with his grandparents - reacted strongly to the news
"I've seen the cops over there. He's got some problems going on in his life,” said Terry Pigg. “He's a young kid. I don't think he's got the mind frame to be with a child."
