New this summer: Kings Island launches international festival Grand Carnivale

MASON, Ohio -- An international, immersive festival is coming to Kings Island.

Kings Island's Grand Carnivale kicked off Saturday and features sights, smells and tastes of countries around the world. The festival will celebrate food and traditions from China, Italy, Germany, India and France.

Executive Chef James Major will whip up dishes like tandoori chicken tacos, profiteroles cream puffs, bier kase spatzle and Italian meatballs.


The Spectacle of Color Parade will begin every night at 8 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy Bollywood performers and floats as the parade makes its way through the streets of the park.

Friday and Saturday night concert series will kick off on a stage at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Fireworks will fill the sky at 10 p.m.

Grand Carnivale will start at 5 p.m. each night and will run through July 7.
