KENTON COUNTY, Ky. — A Kenton County School District employee has been arrested on sex charges, a district spokeswoman confirmed.

Campbell County police arrested 32-year-old Jason Schwartz, of Dayton, on Sunday. Schwartz is charged with first-degree sodomy of a victim under 12 years old, use of a minor under 16 years old in a sex performance and first-degree sodomy, police said.

Schwartz is listed as a teacher and athletic director at Woodland Middle School on the school's website.

Jess Dykes, public information officer for the Kenton County School District, released the following statement:

"We have been made aware of the arrest of one of our employees. The employee has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation. Additionally, we are cooperating with local authorities."

Boone County authorities contacted the Campbell County Police Department about videos they received “which appeared to depict a sex crime perpetrated upon a juvenile,” according to Campbell County Chief Craig Sorrell.

“Investigation determined the video captured some of the illegal acts, committed upon the juvenile, over a period of nearly seven years,” Sorrell said in a news release.

The last of the suspected crimes occurred about eight years ago.
