The Year 2020 got off to a violent start in Cincinnati with five people shot in three incidents early Wednesday, police said. One victim is not expected to survive.

Police said a 29-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head on Bahama Terrace in Mount Airy about 2:30 a.m.

Four people were shot in two separate incidents in Over-the-Rhine.

Two men and a woman were shot near Sycamore Avenue and Central Parkway about 3 a.m. A man who tried to flee the scene crashed his SUV into the back of a pickup truck parked near the intersection of Main and 13th Streets.

The shooting was sparked by a fight between a group of women, police said.

Two victims were found in a white pickup truck. A short time later, officers found a third victim in a nearby parking garage.

One of the men was seriously hurt. The other two victims are expected to recover.

Police took a person of interest in custody, charged with unrelated felonies.

Before that, a man was shot while in his car in the same area of Over-the-Rhine. He drove himself to the hospital and is going to be OK, police said.
