COVINGTON, Ky. — A federal judge sentenced a Cincinnati man to seven years in prison Thursday for selling opioids.

Dante Martin, 37, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl and acetyl fentnanyl, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky announced Friday.

In June 2018, Martin sold drugs to undercover law enforcement working with the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force on four separate occasions, authorities said. In the final sale, he drove from Cincinnati to Kenton County with his girlfriend and three young children and sold 60 grams of opioids for $5,100. He was immediately arrested.

Martin will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he's eligible for probation. He'll be under supervision for five years after his release from prison.
