NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Police are searching for a suspect after a deadly shooting Tuesday night at an Ohio warehouse which left one person dead and five others wounded.

It happened at around 10:30 p.m. in New Albany near Columbus.

New Albany police said 28-year-old Bruce Foster III is the person of interest.

Police say Foster is six feet tall, 175 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Josh Poland, a spokesperson for the city of New Albany, said they do not believe Foster is still at the warehouse.

New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones described the shooting as a “targeted type of attack” and said officials don't believe the Foster poses a general threat to the public.

“We have a person of interest and we’re looking to locate them and bring them into custody," Jones said during a press conference.

A firearm was also found at the scene.

Jones said there were no reports of any confrontation or dispute that would have prompted the shooting.

He said Foster had been at work “for some time” before the shooting and police have been checking addresses associated with him.

The warehouse is home to a company that makes cosmetic and toiletry products. Police did not immediately provide a motive for the shooting or the conditions of those wounded.

“This is a heartbreaking and tragic situation. Our officers, alongside multiple agencies, responded swiftly to protect lives and secure the scene," Jones said. "We train for situations like this, and while it is something no community ever wants to face, we were prepared to act quickly and effectively. We will continue working to bring this situation to a full resolution.”

About 150 people were evacuated to a neighboring building, according to Jones.
