CINCINNATI — A member of the St. Xavier football team tested positive for COVID-19, according to a message from principal Terry Tyrell released Monday afternoon.

The school has closed indoor athletic facilities to allow for cleaning of all surfaces and areas.

Parents of football players have been notified of the positive test, and the school is encouraging students to quarantine for 14 days.

Football practice and conditioning has been postponed until July 13.

The school will test all strength and conditioning coaches and athletic trainers.

Tyrell wants all students who show symptoms or test positive to contact the school’s athletic trainers immediately.
