LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — Of the 288 inmates at the Dearborn County Jail, 30 have tested positive for COVID-19 as well as four employees, according to Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry.
McHenry said there were no positive cases in the facility a week ago.
“We seem to have it contained to a few areas thus far,” McHenry said. “At this point, I think we’ve got a good handle on it.”
He said they’ve been working with state and local health departments to try to keep ahead of the virus.
McHenry said he thinks they acted quickly and isolated inmates and employees who tested positive, so he hopes there won’t be any further spread.
