MASON, Ohio -- Kings Island announced it would push its April 11 opening back to mid-May amid coronavirus/COVID-19 concerns.

"Currently, we hope to open the park mid-May or as soon thereafter as possible," read a statement from Cedar Fair CEO Richard Zimmerman on Friday. "We believe this decision is in the best interest of our associates, our guests and our community."

Guests who have prepaid tickets can contact the park here. The park says it will add days to its operating calendar for 2020 season passholders to accommodate for days the park is temporarily closed. It was also to announce other "added-value benefits" soon.
