Travelers, workers and visitors at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport can now pay to receive COVID-19 testing that produces results within 35 minutes, airport spokesperson Mindy Kershner announced Wednesday morning.
Testing will be open seven days a week inside the airport, which has set aside a space near its TSA checkpoint for local testing provider Skyology Lab.
Skyology and CVG will offer three types of rapid-response testing at different price points:
- Molecular/PCR tests, considered the most accurate among rapid-response testing methods, cost $200.
- Antigen tests cost $150.
- Antibody tests, which do not detect current COVID-19 cases but can detect whether a patient has been ill with COVID-19 in the recent past, cost $75.
Skyology Lab spokesperson John Keuffer said the company’s PCR and antibody tests have a 99% accuracy rate, and its antigen tests return accurate results about 97% percent of the time.
“Our combined goal is to help increase the safety for the community and travelers with convenient COVID-19 testing solutions with fast results,” Keuffer said in a news release.
According to the release, test-seekers can schedule an appointment online or walk in.
