LEBANON, Ohio — Five-year-old Isaac Cadwallader and his mom, Sarah, aren’t seeing much of their neighbors these days. They found a way to spread a positive message anyway.
The mother-son duo was inspired by a Facebook post encouraging people across the country to “Chalk Your Walk” by decorating their neighborhood’s sidewalks with upbeat pictures and messages. It’s a unique form of comfort for the social-distancing age.
“It gives ‘em a little bit of sunshine, a little encouragement,” Sarah Cadwallader said in an interview over FaceTime. “We’re all in this together.”
Isaac was excited to do it. He and his mom wrote It will be okay and Isaiah 41:10 in multicolored chalk outside his home.
The Bible verse they referenced reads: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
