CINCINNATI — Taglio, a local bar and pizzeria, made sure that frontline workers from the area had a slice day by donating some pizza meals to them.

In mid-April, FC Cincinnati broadcasters Tom Gelehrter and Kevin McCloskey held a pizza-thon with Taglio in order to show how much they appreciate all the frontline workers during the pandemic. In just a few hours, the pizza-thon raised enough money to give about 450 pizzas to the workers.

At first, Taglio delivered the pizzas to Mercy West, the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Christ Hospital, but now the pizzeria is trying to reach as many frontline workers as possible.

"We started with some hospitals but we have a number of people lined up this week from paramedics to firemen to a little bit of everyone," Jake Goodwin, Taglio's director of operations, said. "Idea was just to try to make sure it was easier for them to make sure they were eating while they were working these long shifts and just show them some appreciation for how hard they work."
