GOP presidential nominee has been touting Russian president Vladimir Putin as a better leader than Barack Obama. Trump praised the Russian leader at a candidate forum, and even spoke on Russian state TV. Putin has all but killed the free press in Russia, made scapegoats out of Russian LGBT citizens, jailed his political opponents and threatens neighboring countries. For Trump — who wants to curtail libel laws, calls for his political opponent to be jailed, has made scapegoats out of Mexicans and immigrants and threatens to bully other countries — maybe Putin is a role model.
