CINCINNATI -- Uptown Rental Properties has acquired five buildings for its latest wave of development in the Short Vine business district near the University of Cincinnati.

The buildings in the 2600 block of Vine will be renovated to provide 14 apartments and 17,000 square feet of retail, commercial or entertainment space.

“We are very pleased to have acquired the last group of buildings needing major attention,” Uptown President Dan Schimberg said. “Our efforts will continue to reinforce the experience of being on Short Vine.”

Uptown has developed hundreds of new apartment units near the Short Vine business district of Corryville, anchored to the south by a $20 million Kroger store that opened in 2017 and to the north by a Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel.

The city of Cincinnati and the Uptown Consortium have invested more than $2 million in planning and streetscape improvements to fuel the revitalization.
