A Butler County man hopes he has the idea of the century. But will the sharks of "Shark Tank" take the bait or swim away from the Beer Blizzard?
"Our product is quite simply the second greatest invention of all time," says inventor Tom Osborne.
Osborne knows the sharks on ABC's hit show have a pretty serious bite. He just hopes they like a cold beer as much as he does.
Osborne sketched his idea on a napkin and launched it on Kickstarter. He got 2,044 backers to pledge $43,574 to help bring his project to life.
That was more than 800% of his goal.
So, what is the Beer Blizzard?
A "plastic ice cube" designed to fit into the bottom of any beer or soda can.
"At the end of that 45-day campaign we had product sales to all 50 states at 45 countries around the world and we knew then we had a hit," Osborne said.
That's when "Shark Tank" reached out to Osborne and his partner to pitch the idea.
"You walk into the room and the five sharks are staring you down," he said.
Osborne won't say if the sharks melted his dream or swam toward the Beer Blizzard. So don't miss Osborne on an all new episode of "Shark Tank" tonight on Nine on Your Side and ABC at 9 EDT.
