CINCINNATI  - Camp Joy Executive Director Amy Thompson is taking over as Director of Leadership Cincinnati and Leadership Action,  the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber announced Wednesday.

Thompson is a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati and the Chamber’s WE Lead program with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals and corporate and non-profit teams reach their full potential through life-changing experiences, according to the Chamber.

Leadership Cincinnati, entering its 40th year,  is the Chamber’s flagship leadership development program, with more than 1,700 graduates in leadership roles across the region. Leadership Action, entering its third year, is a hands-on leadership development experience for executives that focuses on a project capable of moving the needle on an issue of importance to the region.

“I’m looking forward to helping Cincinnati’s leaders reach their personal and professional peaks through engaging experiences, meaningful dialogue, tough questions and reflection,”  Thompson said in a release.

“Amy led with vision and a passion for Joy’s mission of serving the underserved and those with chronic diseases,” said Lisa Knutson, chair of Camp Joy’s board. “While Amy’s departure is bittersweet for us, there is no doubt that our region will continue to benefit from her work.”

Thompson, who lives in Loveland,  has served on boards and committees for the American Camp Association, Green Umbrella, Impact 100 and Leadership Council of Health & Human Services Executives. She is also a member of the 40 Under 40 Class of 2010.
