Halloween candy season is here. But where should you buy it?
9 on Your Side checked bags of snack size candy at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Meijer, and Kroger.
We found slight price differences, though if you are buying 5 or more bags, the savings can really add up.
- Kroger has small bags of snack size candy (10 to 12 ounces each) for $2.50, which is 50 cents off its normal price of $3.
- Meijer is essentially the same price: $2.49 per small bag.
- Target has 3 bags for $8, or about $2.66 each. Target's better deal are large bags at $7 each.
- Walmart has snack bags for $2.68 each, though their extra large, 100 piece bags are $9.94, a very good deal.
Check Walgreens, CVS
Oakley shopper Jo Wilkinson says don't forget drugstores like CVS and Walgreens. "Walgreens has a lot of great deals on their candy," Wilkinson said.
You will need their sale flier to benefit, however.
For instance at CVS, small bags of candy are posted 3 for $9, which is nothing special.
But a coupon from their weekly flier, combined with rebate, brings those bags down down to 3 for $4.50....or about $1.50 each.
That's the lowest price in town right now.
So shop around, and look for those sales, so you don't waste your money.
