CINCINNATI — It's a fresh start for the Cincinnati Reds with David Bell taking over as manager. Reds fan Sean Lind said he's feeling good about the upcoming season.

"I don't know if it is just him, or the new talent," he said. "It's a shame they are only here on a one-year contract, but they do look more optimistic as far as what they can do on the field."

All baseball fans know that catching a game can be pricey -- add up the cost of a ticket, plus ballpark food and a new hat or t-shirt.

Now may be a good time to buy for fans who are scoping out ticket deals.

To join fans like Sean at Great American Ball Park, there are a number of ways to slash those ticket prices.

Reds tickets start at $5 for the Value View seats, but they are limited. You can buy tickets for most of the upper levels for under $20 (for most games).

In addition to those options, the Reds are once again adding the following for the 2019 season:

  • Family Sundays: Get three half-price tickets with the purchase of a full-price ticket.
  • Thirsty Thursdays: This $30 package gets you a Field Box ticket plus a $10 concession credit toward your first drink.
  • Post-Game Concert Series: Pay for a game ticket, but get a concert for free. Zedd performs after the game on July 26 and another artist will be announced soon for the Sept. 7 game.
  • Reds Pick-6 Plan: Each plan includes six Reds home games including bobblehead giveaways, plus an exclusive oversize Joey Votto bobblehead commemorating the Reds' 150th anniversary. It also includes six free McDonald's Extra Value Meal vouchers. Pricing starts at $90 for this deal (but also includes $120, $186, $229, $486 and $606 options).

If memorabilia is more your thing, the Reds are offering the following bobblehead and t-shirt ticket packages:

  • May 15 - Game of Thrones (bobblehead)
  • May 18 - Bike Night (t-shirt)
  • May 19 - Peanuts (bobblehead)
  • May 31 - Star Wars (bobblehead)
  • June 14 to July 7 - Women's World Cup (t-shirt)
  • June 14 - Marvel (bobblehead)
  • June 18 - Cincinnati Zoo (bobblehead)
  • July 19 - Margaritaville (bobblehead)
  • Aug. 16 - Grateful Dead (bobblehead)
  • Sept. 20 to Sept. 22 - Oktoberfest Zinzinnati (commemorative mug)

Remember a Tuesday game in May or June may be cheaper than a Saturday game in July. Keep that in mind when buying your tickets, so you don't waste your money.
