Research shows brain is in constant stage of development from before birth to age 21. Substance abuse including tobacco & marijuana can disrupt this process. It can impact a child's IQ, learning, memory and behavior.
Interact for Health believes we need to institute policies that raise the age to purchase tobacco to 21. This includes e-cigarettes as research shows their use is skyrocketing in young adults.
They also believe parents need to talk to their children about the risks of tobacco & drug use of any kind. Know your children's friends and if they use tobacco and drugs.
