The start of the professional baseball season is not a game in Cincinnati.
For 100 years, Reds Opening Day has been a citywide celebration. And at the heart of that celebration is the Findlay Market Merchant Association's annual Opening Day parade, which attracts thousands of spectators.
This year, Opening Day holds even greater significance as the city, along with Major League Baseball celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Cincinnati Redlegs as America's first professional baseball team.
The 100th annual Findlay Market Opeing Day Parade will begin at noon Thursday on Race Street near the market. Following the parade, the Reds will play the Pittsburgh Pirates starting at 4 p.m. at Great American Ball Park.
