Top 9: These eateries and bars serve great views

Cincinnati is a gorgeous city, and restaurants are increasingly maximizing the views that they have.

There are plenty of places in Cincinnati to find food served with a view. Here are nine of our favorites.

Krueger's Tavern (Over-the-Rhine): Krueger's boasts the only restaurant rooftop patio in Over-the-Rhine, and it's a lovely one. Order one of the eatery's burgers (options include a bacon burger, a barbecue burger and a super-spicy burger) and a beer cocktail, and take in the views of Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. 1211 Vine St.

Top of the Park (Downtown): The largest rooftop patio in downtown Cincinnati, atop the Residence Inn, boasts excellent views of the river and a great happy hour. It's a good place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Downtown after work or after a Reds game. 506 E. Fourth St.

Via Vite (Downtown): Via Vite's terrace, with bites such as pizza and charcuterie and drink specials on wine, beer and delicious Sgroppino (featuring Madisono's grapefruit sorbet and prosecco), allows you to see everything going on at Fountain Square without actually being in the middle of it. It offers some of the best food available outside in the city. 520 Vine St.

21c Cocktail Terrace (Downtown): Want a poptail? The 21c Cocktail Terrace is the place to go. It wraps around the 21c Hotel's roof, with couches, high-top tables, an exclusive snack and cocktail menu and a unique perspective on the city. On a hot day, a poptail will cool you off while you socialize with friends or colleagues. 609 Walnut St.

Mount Adams Pavilion (Mount Adams): The Pavilion is a classic Cincinnati bar and one of the few in Mount Adams with a rooftop terrace. A younger crowd fills the terrace in the warmer months, filling up on bar bites (think chicken fingers and quesadillas) and listening to local bands like Snidely Whiplash. It's the place to party outdoors during summertime in Cincinnati. 949 Pavilion St.

City View Tavern (Mount Adams): City View Tavern, with its view of the hills of Kentucky and the Cincinnati skyline, serves simple but delicious burgers and local beers. The patio fills quickly on the weekends -- often early in the afternoon -- so commit to making a day of it if you want to enjoy the patio. 403 Oregon St.

O'Bryon's Irish Pub (O'Bryonville): Head up to O'Bryonville for O'Bryon's, a neighborhood bar with sports, wings and a killer rooftop patio. The crowd comes from Hyde Park, O'Bryonville and Xavier University's campus, and it's particularly fun to watch baseball or other sports, then head upstairs in between plays. 1998 Madison Road

Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club (Ludlow, Kentucky): This is a great place to grab a drink (or several) in the sun. The bar is huge, with lots of delicious offerings that range from wings to burgers to the "special of the day." The crowd is large and diverse -- older guests, younger patrons, Ludlow locals and visitors from around the region. 860 Elm St.

Cabana on the River (Addyston): Tucked in the West Side, this riverside bar with a resort atmosphere is a favorite of locals. (And you should try it out, too.) It's got a Jimmy Buffett, Key West feel, complete with frozen drinks like the signature orange creme and pina coladas. Try the seared Ahi tuna, boom boom shrimp or spicy, meaty Cabana Bread. (It's like a super-meaty pizza, with sauce on the side.) Whether you have a boat or just want to feel like you're on vacation, venture down Route 50 to check this place out. 7445 Forbes Road
