CINCINNATI -- The Butcher and Barrel will offer a casual vibe and sophisticated menu when it opens on Friday Downtown.
The restaurant, bar and lounge is the latest venture for chef Alfio Gulisano and business partner Juan Imeroni, who opened Che in January 2016 in Over-the-Rhine. The Butcher and Barrel is located at 700 Race St., inside the former Blue Wisp Jazz Club.
General manager Gabe Cronon said the Butcher and Barrel's menu reflects Gulisano's love for the cuisine he grew up with in his native country of Argentina. Main course dishes include crispy duck, pork shank, rib-eye steak, filet mignon, braised pork belly and braised beef shank. The drink menu offers a large selection of craft cocktails, beer and wines.
Cronon said the restaurant is divided into two sections: a bar and dining area, featuring a large, central bar surrounded by tables and booths, and a lounge area with a secondary bar and couches. DJs will provide late-night entertainment in the lounge, he added.
