LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — One of the Tri-State’s favorite ski and snowboard resorts is gearing up for its earliest season start yet.
Perfect North Slopes will open for its 40th season Friday at noon after 40-plus hours of "continuous snowmaking" have blanketed Lawrenceburg slopes in the cold white stuff.
Skiiers and snowboarders will have access to “limited terrain” from the Blue, Green and Red chairlifts Friday. The resort will also open Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with more trails and courses opening next week.
Perfect North's previous seasons have typically started in early or mid-December, making Friday's opening the “earliest start to a winter season ever,” resort officials said.
This season, the resort has added an Airstream food service trailer and 75 new LED lights along the hill. Perfect North also plans to open a new Ski Patrol Base and Training Center next to its maintenance building this season.
Starting Monday, the slopes will be open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
