HAMILTON, Ohio — Another year, another "Bachelor" contestant from the Tri-State!
The popular reality TV franchise on Monday kicked off its 28th season, where tennis pro Joey Graziadei will be looking for love. Among the contestants introduced in the premiere is 27-year-old Kayla, a guidance counselor from Hamilton.

Kayla is described in her bio as an "outgoing, trustworthy and unapologetic woman with a big personality" who is tired of third-wheeling with her friends. Her limousine exit definitely showed her personality, as she practiced her tennis grunts before saying hello to Graziadei.
Also in her bio, Kayla appears to be a big animal lover — taking care of rescues and even stopping traffic to save a baby duckling. Like just about every other person aged 25-40, she said she loves "Harry Potter" and "Schitt's Creek."
When it comes to love (the actual purpose of the show), her bio says Kayla just got out of an eight-year relationship where she was "ready for forever," but her ex wasn't.
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear she found much with Graziadei, who did not pick her in the first rose ceremony of the season.
While she went home early, Kayla said in a video posted to social media the experience was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I had so much fun."
"Major shout-out to my hometown Hamilton, Ohio. You guys brought so much support ... I just want to say I really appreciate you guys," Kayla said.
She also teased another future appearance, saying in her video that it will not be last time viewers see her — "so stay tuned." We're tuned in, Kayla!
This was the third straight season a Tri-State native will appear on the "Bachelor" franchise. Cincinnati stylist Olivia Miller was on the previous season of "The Bachelor," while Springboro's Taylor Pegg went on the same "Bachelorette" season as Graziadei. Neither Miller nor Pegg made it too far on their seasons, either.
All episodes of "The Bachelor" will air on Mondays from 8-10 p.m. on WCPO 9.
